Bio:
Claire Ngo, Advisory Director, Temasek, drives the Firm’s strategic relationships and partnerships across the asset owner ecosystem. Claire oversaw the investment of $15bn+ of the Firm’s capital into Private Equity (PE) funds in North America, Europe, and Asia and co-investments across sectors. She worked closely with the CEO to establish Temasek’s U.S. presence, opening offices in SF, Washington D.C., doubling their NYC investment team size. Prior to joining Temasek in 2016, Claire was the founder and CEO of an advisory firm focused on building multinational companies reach in Asia through strategic partnerships. Prior to that, Claire spent 13 years with Goldman Sachs, where she served in a number of leadership positions including Head of Pan Asian Equities. Claire began her career in the Investment Banking Division, Media and Telecom, as well as Equity Capital Markets at Merrill Lynch, New York.
Claire has over 30 years of experience leading and managing teams in the U.S., Brazil and Asia navigating cross border teams and foreign investment regimes. From her time at both GS and Temasek, Claire has built a strong network of global asset owners spanning private equity large buyout managers, middle market managers, pension funds, endowments, sovereign wealth funds and institutional asset managers.
Claire serves on a number of boards including the University of Virginia College Foundation Board, Institutional Investor Roundtable/FIRCAP board, and the Private Capital Asset Owner Advisory Board, working alongside the Harvard Business School (HBS) Private Capital Project. She has also served as a Trustee for the California Academy of Sciences, Goldman Sachs (Singapore) Board, HBS Alumni Board, and Executive Committee for United Nations Women (Singapore). Claire has sat on a number of LP Advisory Committees for several PE funds including Advent, Clayton Dubilier & Rice, Apollo and TH Lee. Committee experience includes Finance & Audit, Compensation and HR, and Nominating and Membership.
She is a frequent panel speaker at PE conferences and is a member of the Private Equity Women Investor Network, Institutional Investors Roundtable of leading global asset owners, Fiduciary Investors Roundtable for Collaboration & Partnerships, and World Economic Forum participant on “The Future of Value Creation in Private Equity”. Claire is a 2012 Henry Crown Fellow of the Aspen Institute and member of the Aspen Global Leadership Network.
Claire holds a M.B.A. from Harvard Business School, and a B.A. in Economics from the University of Virginia. She enjoys classical piano, executive coaching, hiking, travel, and performing in Off off Broadway and film.
