Title and Organization:
As President and Chief Investment Officer of Hillspire LLC, a $10+ billion family office and investment organization based in Silicon Valley, Chuck's primary responsibilities include managing a diverse investment portfolio, overseeing the investment team and advising the principals on other general matters. Prior to joining Hillspire in 2011, Chuck was a member of the financial crisis response team in the U.S. Department of the Treasury during the Obama Administration. Before public service, Chuck worked at Perry Capital, a $12 billion investment firm, where he founded the firm's Asian operations in Hong Kong and helped build a 10-person team managing over $1 billion throughout Asia. Chuck began his career in investment banking at Goldman Sachs in the financial institutions group in New York and in Singapore, where he helped advise banks in Southeast Asia on mergers and restructuring during the 1997 Asian financial crisis. Chuck has also been actively involved in a variety of non-profit and public policy related endeavors. From 2006 to 2008, he was the volunteer country coordinator for the Clinton HIV/AIDS Initiative in Thailand. He has been a term member of the Council on Foreign Relations and is a member of the Global Capital Markets Advisory Council of the Milken Institute. Chuck is a board member of the San Francisco Child Abuse Prevention Center. Chuck graduated summa cum laude in economics from Harvard College, where he was elected to Phi Beta Kappa, and received his M.B.A. from the Stanford Graduate School of Business, where he was an Arjay Miller Scholar. Chuck is a 2013 Henry Crown Fellows of the Aspen Institute and a member of the Aspen Global Leadership Network.
