Title and Organization:
Michelle is a public board member and early stage venture investor. Michelle has extensive board experience in audit, risk, M&A and shareholder activism. Michelle is currently on the board of Taubman (NYSE:TCO) where she is a member of the audit committee. She has been on the board of Legg Mason (NYSE:LM) and was Chair of the risk committee and a member of the audit and special M&A committees and the board of Plum Creek (NYSE:PCL) where she was a member of the compensation committee, both companies were sold in public to public mergers. Michelle has been a venture investor for over two decades, investing in early stage companies including DocuSign, Glympse, Lovevery, Julep, Pareto and TomboyX. She was a Partner at Ignition Ventures for 20 years and is now a Venture Partner at SoGal, investing in how the next generation works, plays and stays healthy. Michelle has been an active fundraiser and endowment manager in education and women in tech and launched the Ada Developer Academy’s Loan Fund. Michelle earned a Master's degree from Harvard, and a Bachelor's degree from Columbia College where she currently sits on the Board of Visitors. She is a 2013 Henry Crown Fellow of the Aspen Institute and a member of the Aspen Global Leadership Network.
