Michelle J Goldberg is currently a venture investor and board member for technology start ups and established public companies. Michelle has extensive board experience in audit, risk, M&A and shareholder activism. Michelle is currently on the board of Bakkt (NYSE:BKKT) where she is chair of nom/gov committee and a member of the audit committee. She is working at the intersection of ESG and Audit disclosure and accountability. Bakkt is a crypto as a service platform enabling the management of digital assets, including loyalty points, rewards, NFTs and in-game assets. Michelle was an independent board member at Taubman (NYSE:TCO) where was is a member of the audit committee, Legg Mason (NYSE:LM) where she was Chair of the risk committee and a member of the audit and special M&A committees and the board of Plum Creek (NYSE:PCL) where she was a member of the compensation committee, all companies were sold in public to public mergers.
Michelle is an advisor to SoGal Ventures, a venture capital firm investing in how the next generation works, plays, and stays healthy. From 2000 to 2020 Michelle was a partner at Ignition, an early stage enterprise software venture capital firm where she invested in emerging technologies in enterprise, mobile and consumer. Michelle is a seasoned technology investor with strategic, financial and governance experience now focusing on digital transformation. Michelle is a Crown Fellow of the Aspen Institute and is an advocate and fundraiser for women in tech. She was earned a master’s degree from Harvard University and holds an undergraduate degree from Columbia College at Columbia University where she is currently a member of the Board of Visitors and part of the Governance committee.
