Title and Organization:
In 2017, Dan Hoffman started Circles to connect the world deeply so people could learn and grow together. This was his Crown Fellowship project, which he worked on during a two year sabbatical with his family in Barcelona. Previously, Dan started M5 Networks, Inc. a pioneering cloud communications company which he sold to ShoreTel in 2012, a public company who competed with premises-based office phone system technology. Prior to M5, Dan founded Asia Online, a pan-Asian VC-backed roll-up of local Internet Service Providers, based in Hong Kong. Dan currently serves on the Board of Workshop in Business Opportunities, a 50-year non-profit that creates peer learning groups of entrepreneurs in struggling communities. He is a member of YPO, and the Entrepreneurs' Organization, where he founded a Brooklyn chapter. Dan graduated from Harvard magna cum laude with an AB in Slavic Languages and Literature. He holds an MBA in Entrepreneurial Management from Wharton at University of Pennsylvania, and an MA in International Studies from Lauder Institutes at the University of Pennsylvania. Dan is a 2014 Henry Crown Fellow of the Aspen Institute and a member of the Aspen Global Leadership Network.
