Bio:
Kim Kingsley is a global leader in communications and digital news. An innovative thinker and cross-functional executive, Kingsley has developed everything from newsroom infrastructure to corporate partnerships and multi-platform event series. She has expertise in editorial, marketing, digital, and business development. As the former Global Head of Communications for Airbnb, Kingsley led public affairs, public relations, executive communications, and strategic research overseeing a team of communication professionals in 15 offices around the world. She now serves as Director of Strategic Projects. Before joining Airbnb, Kingsley was co-founder and Chief Operating Officer at POLITICO, a nonpartisan, Washington-based political media company. Under her leadership, POLITICO grew to nearly 500 employees and was recognized by Fast Company Magazine and many others as among the most innovative and creative companies in the industry. With a degree in Journalism from Pennsylvania State University, Kingsley launched her career in Washington D.C. media, first as an Executive News Producer for WTOP, a top-rated all-news radio station and later as the Deputy Director of Media and Special Projects at The Washington Post. She is an Advisory Board Member of Georgetown University's Institute of Politics and Public Service. ELLE Magazine named Kingsley one of Washington's “Ten Most Powerful Women," and Washington Life Magazine featured her on recent "Power 100" and "Rising Stars Under 40” lists. Kingsley is a global ambassador for the Vital Voices Global Partnership, a program designed to provide mentorship opportunities for emerging women leaders. She serves on Penn State's College of Communications Advancement Council and the school's Marketing and Communications Committee. She is proud to have served as a speaker at one of Penn State's 2015 commencement ceremonies and is a recipient of the school’s prestigious Alumni Achievement Award. She is a member of the 2016 Class of Henry Crown Fellows and the Aspen Global Leadership Network at the Aspen Institute.
