Alicia Hughes serves on the City Council of Alexandria, Virginia and works at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. She has extensive experience in land use and community development issues and has worked as a public school teacher, a federal judicial law clerk, and a congressional staffer. Hughes received a B.S. in biology from Texas Southern University and her J.D. from the University of Miami School of Law. Alicia is a 2010 Rodel Fellow of the Aspen Institute and a member of the Aspen Global Leadership Network.
