Jessica Lappin was first elected to the New York City Council in 2005, and chairs its Committee on Aging. She also serves on the Council’s Education, Transportation, Cultural Affairs, and Land Use Committees and has been a strong advocate for education reform, environmental protection, and public safety. She earned her bachelor’s in government from Georgetown University, where she graduated magna cum laude.
