Bio:
M. Teresa Ruiz is the first Latina to serve in the New Jersey Senate where she is Chair of the Senate Education Committee and Vice Chair of the Legislative Oversight Committee. She is also Deputy Chief of Staff for Essex County Executive Joseph N. DiVincenzo, Jr. A first-generation Puerto Rican American, Ruiz graduated from Drew University as an English major and went on to work as a Pre-K teacher and helped found the Robert Treat Academy Charter School.
