Jennifer Carroll currently serves as Florida’s Lieutenant Governor. Previously, Carroll served as a Florida state representative and was the first African American female ever elected to the state’s legislature. While serving, Carroll served on the White House Presidential Scholar’s Commission and the Veteran’s Disability Benefits Commission. She formerly served as executive director of the Florida Department of Veterans’ Affairs after a 20 year career in the U.S. Navy from which she retired a lieutenant commander.
