Title and Organization:
Marty Jackley is South Dakota’s Attorney General and the recipient of the 2008 South Dakota Prosecutor of the Year award from the state’s attorney’s association. Previously, Jackley was a partner at the law firm of Gunderson, Palmer, Nelson, and Ashmore, where he focused on criminal law, civil and business litigation, construction and engineering law and real property disputes. While there, he also served as a Special Assistant Attorney General for South Dakota, prosecuting controlled substance felonies. Jackley graduated from the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology with a Bachelor B.S. in electrical engineering and received his law degree from the University of South Dakota School of Law.
