Title and Organization:
Heidi Alaskary is the managing director for diversity, inclusion, and partnerships at the General Sport Authority in Saudi Arabia. Prior to this, she was the director of employment of persons with disabilities at Human Resources Development Fund where she works on a country level on service programs that lead to suitable and sustainable employment. Prior to this she was the director of research affairs at King Salman Center for Disability Research where she was an administrator, fundraiser, educator, researcher, and advocate. She has also worked as a speech-language pathologist in both public and private settings establishing services; and as an assistant professor at King Saud University. Heidi has served as a consultant on projects in the United States, Nigeria, Qatar, and United Arab Emirates. She developed presentations and workshops designed to educate, increase awareness, and generate support for individuals with disabilities. She has been a keynote speaker in local and regional events including TEDx Arabia and United Nations. Heidi is a member of many local charities and served on various boards. She is a certified member American Speech-Language--Hearing Association and earned their ACE for continuing education, Hanen Center Programs, and SOCRA. She summited Kilimanjaro in 2016, is a certified spinning instructor, and she loves cooking, painting, quilting, reading, and genealogy.
