Vinati Kastia Kilambi joined AZB & Partners in 2004, after resigning as Partner from Amarchand Mangaldas. Vinati started her career in Amarchand Mangaldas, where she was promoted to senior associate within 3 years and made Partner within 7 years. In addition to M&A and private equity, she has experience in various other practice areas including litigation, competition law, taxation, infrastructure projects, project financing, information technology, real estate, etc. Vinati was part of a team advising the Andhra Pradesh Government on legislative initiatives that were being attempted in the area of data protection. Vinati has done significant work in Competition Law, including working with the authorities when the rules were being framed. She also assists corporates on criminal law matters, in conjunction with specialized criminal law advisors. Apart from regular mentoring of her team, Vinati also takes responsibility to develop and support AZB’s internal knowledge management program in Delhi. Vinati participates in several social initiatives, particularly those focused on education, child development and encouraging sports in India. Vinati has taken up several opportunities to provide pro bono assistance to clients in the social sector. Vinati has worked closely with Save the Children on their early learning training programs. Vinati has been associated with the Ashoka University and their YIF Program aimed at picking diverse talent from across the country and training them to become change agents. Vinati has also provided mentorship to young lawyers who join this program. Vinati graduated as a lawyer from India’s premier law school, National Law School of India University, Bangalore in 1996. Vinati actively supports, ‘Palna’, an adoption agency with their fundraising programs. Vinati loves to cook and particularly bake for friends and family. She is a Fellow of the sixth class of the Kamalnayan Bajaj Fellowship and a member of the Aspen Global Leadership Network.
