Ted Maple is president and chief executive officer of Early Learning Indiana, a nonprofit organization with a mission of ensuring the highest level of early care and education for children in Indiana. Early Learning Indiana is a leading provider of quality early learning programs and coordinates a number of statewide efforts to improve early childhood practices and policies in Indiana. For eight years, Ted served both as director of early childhood and director of education at United Way of Central Indiana, where he led the organization?s early childhood education initiative and school-based programs. Prior to joining United Way, he managed the early childhood program at St. Mary's Child Center, an Indianapolis-based nonprofit for at-risk children; and taught kindergarten and first grade on the northwest side of Indianapolis. Ted is active in the Indianapolis community, where he serves on various boards, committees and workgroups related to education. He earned his bachelor's degree in education from University of Indianapolis, master's degree in education from Butler University, and doctor of philosophy degree from Ball State University. Ted lives in Indianapolis with his wife and three sons.
