Bio:
Passionate about people and social justice, Kacey is using her talents and education to change lives and outcomes in South Carolina. Her passion for eliminating health care disparities arises from personal experience, work with HIV/AIDS patients in South Carolina and Zimbabwe, and as a migrant health outreach worker in rural North Carolina. Much of her efforts are focused on the disparities in women's health along racial lines, which she believes are attributable to a broken system. Among her many honors and achievements, Kacey is most proud of receiving awards for excellence in resident education from the students at UNC School of Medicine and USC School of Medicine-Greenville. Kacey holds a Bachelor of Arts in Social Justice, cum laude, from Duke University, and a Doctor of Medicine from the Medical University of South Carolina. She is a Fellow of the 2018 Class of Liberty Fellowship and is a member of the Aspen Global Leadership Network.
