Bio:
At a relatively young stage of her career, Shawan was identified as a rising star within Santee Cooper based upon her strong leadership of cross-functional teams on key employment and legal issues related to energy. Passionate about improving the lives of South Carolinians, Shawan's time outside work is dedicated to those in need in the greater Charleston community, leading efforts with Crisis Ministries, the Lowcountry Food Bank and community clothing drives. With a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Religion, magna cum laude, from Wofford College, Gillians earned her Master of Business Administration from the University of South Carolina, and a Juris Doctor from William and Mary School of Law. She is a Fellow of the 2018 Class of Liberty Fellowship and is a member of the Aspen Global Leadership Network.
