Bio:
Rob's love of the outdoors, nurtured during the 10 years of his youth he lived in Venezuela, is seen in his career, nonprofit work, and free time. In real estate, he enjoys projects which change the landscape, balancing commercial development with volunteer efforts to develop more public outdoor spaces. Passionate about the environment, he is chairing efforts in Greenville South Carolina to increase recycling while reducing waste and acquire mountainous land in the county for more parks. An athlete, he is drawn to outdoor recreation and activities, including rock climbing, kayaking, sailing, and surfing. He has competed in multiple adventure races and was a Top 20 finisher in North America's premier expedition adventure race that covers 500 miles across Utah. Rob's attraction to South Carolina first came through an opportunity to work with Perception Kayaks. Howell holds a Bachelor of Science in Natural Resources and Spanish from the University of the South and a Master of Business Administration for Goizueta Business School at Emory University. He is a Fellow of the 2018 Class of Liberty Fellowship and is a member of the Aspen Global Leadership Network.
