After a hands-on career in education, Ansel has found he thrives in systems level leadership environments. Ansel's practical experience includes three years of teaching in inner-city schools in Baltimore with Teach for America and five years in administrative positions in Greenville County Schools, including as founder of a specialized elementary school. Since then, Ansel found his niche in strategic, innovative approaches to education and strategic leadership at the systems level, working in Finland, Massachusetts, Washington, and Tennessee. After receiving his doctorate, he returned to South Carolina to lead Public Education Partners. Sanders holds a Bachelor of Arts in English from Washington and Lee University, a Master of Arts in Teaching from Johns Hopkins University, and a Doctor of Education Leadership from Harvard Graduate School of Education. He is a Fellow of the 2018 Class of Liberty Fellowship and is a member of the Aspen Global Leadership Network.
