Bio:
Yi Wang is founder and CEO of Liulishuo, a leading AI+Education company in China. Liulishuo has developed an AI-powered virtual English teacher that is proven to triple students’ learning efficiency compared to human teachers. Its flagship product Liulishuo is the leading English learning app and the most popular language learners’ community in China with over 45 million users. It has been featured by Apple as Selected Apps of the Year and App Store Essentials. The company has received over $100m in funding from GGV Capital, IDG Partners, Trustbridge Partners, China Media Capital, Cheburic Ventures, Wu Capital, Hearst Ventures, etc. Prior to founding Liulishuo in September 2012, Yi was a product director of AdChina. Before that, Yi was a product manager at Google in California, responsible for Google Analytics and several cloud infrastructure products. Yi received his Ph.D in computer science from Princeton University and his master’s and bachelor’s degrees in electronic engineering from Tsinghua University. He holds a U.S. patent on Virtual Router Migration. He is a member of China’s top national talent plan, the Thousand Talents Plan. He is the Chair of the Princeton Alumni Association in Shanghai. Yi is a Fellow of the fifth class of the China Fellowship Program and a member of the Aspen Global Leadership Network.
