Bio:
Maura Marino is co-founder and chief executive officer of Education Forward DC, a non-profit focused on ensuring equitable, high quality public schools for all students in Washington, DC. Prior to starting Ed Forward, Maura served as managing partner at NewSchools Venture Fund and was a teacher at East Palo Alto High School, a charter school in Northern California. Maura sits on the board of directors for DC Prep, E.L. Haynes, and Ingenuity Prep Public Charter Schools, as well as Fellowship for Race and Equity in Education, Charter Board Partners and the Bainum Family Foundation. Maura earned a BA with honors in American Studies from Stanford University, an MA in teaching secondary social studies from Columbia University, and an MBA from Harvard University. She is a Fellow of the 20th class of the Pahara-Aspen Education Fellowship and a member of the Aspen Global Leadership Network.
