Lani Hay is the Founder, President and CEO of LMT Inc., a national security consulting company. Launched in 2003, LMT is the leading service provider using statistical analysis to enable combatant commanders to calculate the safest way to move soldiers, munitions and supplies, and reduce the number of IED-related casualties. Lani began her career as an Intelligence Officer and Naval Aviation Observer in the US Navy, completing several tours overseas. Reaching the rank of Lieutenant, she was released from active duty in 2002, served three years as a member of the Individual Ready Reserves, and was honorably discharged in 2005. Lani was recognized as one of Women Presidents’ Organization’s 50 Fastest-Growing Women-Owned/Led Companies in North America, as well as one of Fortune’s 40 Under 40, both in 2013; as one of Goldman Sachs Builders+Innovators Summit’s 100 Most Intriguing Entrepreneurs, and one of STEMconnector’s 100 Women Leaders in STEM in 2012; one of EY’s 2011 Entrepreneurial Winning Women; one of Fortune’s Most Powerful Women Entrepreneurs in 2009; and many others. She was awarded the Department of Defense’s Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business Achievement Award, the Women Impacting Public Policy Diversity Leadership Award, and the Small Business Administration’s National Minority Small Business Person of the Year Award, all in 2007. Lani earned her BS in mathematics from the United States Naval Academy, holds an MBA from the College of William & Mary’s Mason School of Business, and received a master’s certificate in Government Contracting from George Washington University. Lani also completed the Executive Education Program, Women and Power, at Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government, the Political Leaders Program at University of Virginia’s Sorensen Institute for Political Leadership, and Lead Virginia. She is a member of the 2018 Class of Henry Crown Fellows within the Aspen Global Leadership Network at the Aspen Institute.
