Itumeleng Mahabane is a partner at Brunswick– an advisory firm that helps firms build trusted relationships with stakeholders across financial, political and social spheres. He leads the group’s Business, Politics and Society practice in Africa. For more than fifteen years, including over a decade at Brunswick, he has advised leading multinational corporations on a signature corporate action, issue & crisis management and on designing and demonstrating public and social value.
Before joining Brunswick Mahabane was an award- winning financial journalist. He has written for The Mail and Guardian, The Sunday Times, The Business Times, The Financial Mail and Business Day. He was a political economy columnist for the last three publications and has contributed to a number of books on political economy. Mahabane is a member of The Board of Trustees of Equal Education Law Centre, The Waterford Kamhlaba Foundation and The Social Justice Initiative. He is a member of the eleventh class of the Africa Leadership Initiative - South Africa Fellows and a member of the Aspen Global Leadership Network
