Bio:
Luis José Kafie is an active member of the board of directors of Grupo Luz y Fuerza (GLF), a Central American independent power producer with over 750 MW of installed capacity. The group has operations in Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, Panama and Colombia and is comprised of more than 1,000 team members operating 15 power plants. Luis José has more than 16 years of experience in the energy industry, directly involved in the development, financing, construction and operation of greenfield energy projects, ranging from hydro, solar, wind and thermal electric power plants. He has a strong commitment with corporate social responsibility, environmental conservation, sustainability, safety and operational excellence. He graduated from Babson College, with a degree in business administration and concentrations on entrepreneurship, finance and real estate. He lives in Honduras with his wife, three daughters and son. He enjoys running and outdoor activities. Luis José is a Fellow of the fourteenth class of the Central America Leadership Initiative and a member of the Aspen Global Leadership Network.
