Bio:
Rodrigo Moran is a Salvadoran social entrepreneur and international development professional, passionate about the intersection of social impact, innovation and technology. He currently serves as technology and innovation liaison for CREA Consultores, the first Creative Associates International subsidiary in Central America, with the mission of catalyzing local Central American innovations to a regional and global scale. Prior to this, Rodrigo lived in the United States for 3 years, where he attended Brandeis University’s Heller School for social policy and management as a Fulbright scholar to complete his master of arts in sustainable international development (Waltham, Massachusetts) and first joined Creative Associates International as technology for communities in transition liaison (2016) working in project design and implementation focusing on the Central American region, supporting technology for development initiatives in Honduras, El Salvador, Nicaragua and the Eastern Caribbean. Rodrigo’s passion for social innovation started when he co-founded the Youth Against Violence Movement of El Salvador, a group advocating for the adoption of youth violence prevention policies at a local and national level. His work as coordinator of the YAV movement in El Salvador, and subsequent role as a signator in the YAV movement-Central America led him to being appointed as the first executive director of the Municipal Youth Institute of the City of San Salvador, where he was in charge of designing the administrative, financial and programmatic structure of the first decentralized municipal authority focusing on youth development, in the City of San Salvador. During his service with the City, he implemented projects that emphasized technology, creativity and entrepreneurship as a tool for positive youth development. Rodrigo is the current president of the Salvadoran United States Alumni Association (ABEU) and is a member of global networks such as the American Council of Young Political Leaders, One Young World's Peace Ambassadors program, the Millennial Trains Project and the Fulbright program. Rodrigo is a Fellow of the fourteenth class of the Central America Leadership Initiative and a member of the Aspen Global Leadership Network.
