Bio:
Pranshu is the Founder and Managing Director of ‘Karo Sambhav’, which was founded in 2017 with the aim of ‘Making Circular Economy Possible’. The organisation started its work on Circular Economy (CE) and Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) with e-waste, but gradually built solutions for plastics waste, batteries waste, glass waste, and tyre waste. Karo Sambhav continues to explore circular solutions in other sectors and is open for collaborations.
Pranshu was awarded the ‘Social Entrepreneur of the Year India – 2021’ by the Schwab Foundation, World Economic Forum. His organisation partners with a wide range of stakeholders and co-creates solutions that drive long term behavioural change in society, enable collection systems, and high-quality recycling at scale. Karo Sambhav’s technology platform and grass-root collection systems foster good governance, fairness, trust, transparency, and traceability.
Prior to Karo Sambhav, Pranshu was Director, Digital Learning Strategy in the Worldwide Education team of Microsoft for 3 years. Before that, he had worked with Nokia as Head, Sustainability for 11 years and was based in Finland, Singapore and India. He sits on various National and International committees focused on circular economy and SDGs.
Pranshu is a Ashoka Fellow, a Schwab Fellow, a Chevening Gurukul Fellow, a IKEA Dela Fellow, and a Societal Platform Aspire Fellow. He has a Master’s in Environmental Management and Policy from International Institute for Industrial Environmental Economics (IIIEE), Sweden. He is a Fellow of the seventh class of the Kamalnayan Bajaj Fellowship in India, and a member of the Aspen Global Leadership Network.
