Bio:
Chandan is an IPS officer presently posted as Superintendant of Police, North Goa. She has worked in Kollam city, Thrissur city and Thiruvananthpuram in Kerala as assistant Commissioner of Police. She has also worked in Vikaspuri subdivision (West District, Delhi) as Assistant Commissioner of Police, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Traffic, Western Range, Delhi and Additional DCP 1 in the South East district of Delhi. In her capacity as a police officer she has consistently made an attempt to bridge the gap between the public and police by way of organizing several community centric schemes for senior citizens, women, adolescents and youth. ‘Police at your doorsteps’, a scheme launched by her in North Goa district was widely appreciated and accepted by the people at large. Prior to getting selected for the Civil Services she was teaching as an Assistant Professor, Political Science at Satyawati College, University of Delhi. As an undergraduate student at the Lady Shri Ram College for Women she was closely associated with the National Service Scheme and actively participated in imparting learning skills to the underprivileged children. She is a Fellow of the seventh class of the Kamalnayan Bajaj Fellowship and a member of the Aspen Global Leadership Network.
