Title and Organization:
Ajay is a doctor, entrepreneur and impact investor with a deep interest in digital health, health systems and public health. In between startups, he currently runs a healthcare technology and innovation focussed advisory practice working with Fortune 500 companies and governments. Before this, he co-founded and led MeraDoctor to become one of India's largest telemedicine networks serving over 700,000 patients in every state of the country. Prior to his startup journey, he was an impact investor at Acumen Fund in New York and Nairobi focussing on Health & Energy.
As a doctor, he trained and worked at one of the country's largest public hospitals, the Sir J.J Group of Hospitals, Mumbai. He also ran HIV/STD clinics for male and female commercial sex workers in Mumbai and worked with the Social Impact Group at ICICI Bank. He received his MBBS from Grant Medical College, Mumbai and his MPH from Harvard University, Boston. He is a Fellow of the seventh class of the Kamalnayan Bajaj Fellowship within the Aspen Global Leadership Network.
