Bio:
Sarah is CEO of Canvas, a software company that builds technology for remodeling, architecture and interior design. She is formerly the CEO of Moz and the EVP CRO of the Moz Group. Prior to selling Moz to Ziff Davis in 2021, Sarah led the company's growth to over 36,000 customers, 200 employees, $60 million annual revenue run rate, raised $30mm venture capital, launched multiple software products, and created a beloved marketing software brand. She set the company strategy and drove execution through alignment, authentic company culture, and transparency. She served on the boards of Washington Technology Industry Association, Sitrion Inc., and Copper Canyon Press. She was previously a member of the Seattle Regional Partnership, Vistage, and the British-American Project. Prior to throwing herself into the Startup lifestyle, she practiced law for several years. A student of the world, Sarah attended Simon Fraser University in Vancouver, Canada; Koç University in Istanbul, Turkey; University of Washington School of Law in Seattle, Washington; and East China University School of Law and Politics in Shanghai, China. Sarah regularly speaks about entrepreneurship, business models, search marketing, women in tech, and fostering an inspiring company culture. Her credits include the White House Summit on Working Families, INBOUND, Collision, the University of Washington, Fledge, Startup Weekend, the Microsoft Accelerator Program, Seattle Tech Meetup, Seattle Interactive Conference, Web Summit, Catalyst, and Defrag. She was named a Geekwire CEO of the Year Finalist three times, Role Model of the Year, Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the Year Finalist, Puget Sound Business Journal 40 Under 40, and a Top 100 Women in Tech. Sarah supports many charitable and educational institutions, including Solid Ground, Ignite Worldwide, TAF Academy, Techbridge, Ada Developers Academy, and WACAP. She is a member of the 2019 Class of Henry Crown Fellows within the Aspen Global Leadership Network at the Aspen Institute.
