Abhijit Bose has been the head of WhatsApp in India since 2019. Abhijit was the first top-level executive to be hired by WhatsApp outside of the US, and has been responsible for building the organization, strategy and business operations in the country. Prior to joining WhatsApp, Abhijit was the co-founder and CEO of Ezetap Mobile Solutions. Started in 2011, Ezetap is one of the leading digital payments platforms in India, processing over $2 Billion in payments annually. Ezetap has been named by CNBC as one of the 50 most disruptive private technology companies in the world and was acquired by Razorpay in 2022. Abhijit has also previously had senior roles with Siebel Systems, Intuit and NGPay, one of India’s first mobile commerce companies. Abhijit holds a BS in Engineering from Cornell University and an MBA from Harvard Business School. He is a Fellow of the 2019 class of the Aspen Finance Leaders Fellowship and a member of the Aspen Global Leadership Network.
