Malcolm Fair is the managing director of RisCura, comprising a group of investment experts who offer a range of services across the investment industry, which help fiduciaries make sound investment decisions for the future. RisCura's founding mission is to make the investment environment a safer place for savers whilst helping them to optimize their outcomes. Malcolm’s experience in the investment industry includes specialist fund management, investment consulting, quantitative research, risk and performance analysis while working in boutique investment firms, including RMB Asset Management, Futuregrowth, and RisCura. RisCura originated in Cape Town, South Africa in 1999 and now has 9 offices across the African continent and beyond. It has been successfully built on disruptive ideas which have changed the face of the investment landscape in a number of jurisdictions. Since joining in 2003, Malcolm has been instrumental in driving many of these. RisCura services a client base of $150bn investment assets in 26 countries, specializing in frontier and emerging markets. Malcolm is dedicated to responsible investment. He led the RisCura research team that co-authored the IFC’s 2010 report entitled Sustainable Investment in Sub-Saharan Africa: Investment practitioner views of sustainable investment in private equity and asset management in South Africa, Nigeria, and Kenya. He has led ground-breaking research into the state of proxy voting in the asset management industry in South Africa, in collaboration with the University of Cape Town. And more recently has been vocal on public platforms and in the media about impact investment as a means of public-private collaboration towards creating a financially stronger and better South Africa. Malcolm is a Fellow of the 2019 class of the Aspen Finance Leaders Fellowship and a member of the Aspen Global Leadership Network.
