Title and Organization:
Douglas C.K. Woo became Chairman and Managing Director of Hong Kong-headquartered listed company, Wheelock and Company, in 2014 after joining the group in 2005.
Wheelock group, including its major subsidiaries Wharf (Holdings) and Wharf REIC, is principally engaged in property development in Hong Kong, Mainland China and Singapore; cargo terminals operation; hotels; retail; property asset management; and new economy infrastructure. The group engages 12,800 staff across Asia-Pacific.
Mr. Woo serves as Chairman of the Environment and Conservation Fund. In addition, he serves on the boards or governing bodies of The Real Estate Developers Association of Hong Kong, Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce and WWF-Hong Kong. He also serves on the advisory councils of Christie’s and HKUST Business School. He is a member of the Beijing Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference.
Mr. Woo graduated from Princeton University with a BA in Architecture and received an EMBA from HKUST and Kellogg School of Management of Northwestern University. He was conferred an Honorary Doctor of Humane Letters by Savannah College of Art and Design (Hong Kong). He has been named a Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum.
