Bio:
Mr. Douglas Woo helms the Hong Kong-headquartered Wheelock Group, established in 1857 with footprints in Hong Kong, Mainland China and Singapore. Wheelock group, including its major subsidiaries Wharf (Holdings) and Wharf REIC, is principally engaged in property development in Hong Kong, Mainland China and Singapore; cargo terminals operation; hotels; retail; property asset management; and new economy infrastructure.
Mr. Woo is a Non-official Member of the Development Bureau’s Land and Development Advisory Committee and a Member of the Land Sub-Committee; a Director and Executive Committee Member of the Real Estate Developers Association of Hong Kong; A Member of the Notaries Public Disciplinary Tribunal Panel, The Judiciary of Hong Kong; Vice Chairman of The Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce; Vice Chairman of the Y. Elites Association; a Director of French May Arts Festival; a Member of the HKUST Business School Advisory Council; and Patron of Project WeCan Foundation. To date, Project WeCan has benefitted over 87,000 students in 82 under-resourced secondary schools.
Mr. Woo graduated from Princeton University with a BA in Architecture and received an EMBA from HKUST and Kellogg School of Management of Northwestern University. He was conferred an Honorary Doctor of Humane Letters by Savannah College of Art and Design (Hong Kong). Mr. Woo is a recipient of the 2022 Business Person of the Year Award from DHL-SCMP Hong Kong Business Awards. He had been named a Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum, and had received a Heroic Volunteer Award from the Agency for Volunteer Service Hong Kong.
