Lamia Al Ansi is new business development manager in Petroleum Development Oman (PDO), the company delivers the majority of the Oman’s crude oil production and natural gas supply. Her current role is managing PDO’s new business development department- an transition from PDO’s traditional role as an oil and gas operator.
Lamia is also a board director and head og risk committee at Oman Development Bank. Her area of interest at work is developing Omani and GCC markets, particularly local skills and industries.In her previous roles as both director of innovation and director of procurement in Oman Tourism Development (OMRAN, a government owned developer) she led teams of professionals from various backgrounds in setting up the company governance, business strategies, procurement and supply chain setup, and project specific implementations. The role included heavy interfaces with senior and experienced stakeholders, as well as being a board and tender committee member in subsidiaries. She has experienced working in both the Netherlands (Shell Upstream in 2005) and Australia (Woodside Energy in 2017). Lamia is a member of the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (MCIPS), a member of the Middle East Leadership Academy (MELA), and holds an MBA in strategic procurement from Curtin Institute of Technology. She is a Fellow of the Middle East Leadership Initiative and a member of the Aspen Global Leadership Network.
