First Name:
Micah
Last Name:
Caskey
Title and Organization:
State Representative, Caskey Law Firm, PA; SC House of Representatives
Bio:
With 10 years’ military experience, Micah is a former Captain in the U.S. Marine Corps with tactical-level combat experience in both Iraq and Afghanistan. He utilized the leadership skills he developed in the military in his business career where he coached supervisors and managers on improving team performance in production facilities and oil rigs inside the Arctic Circle before returning to South Carolina. An Attorney with Caskey Law Firm, PA in Columbia, Micah is passionate about our criminal justice system, based on his time prosecuting cases in the 11th Circuit Solicitor’s Office and now defending the accused in private practice. A member of the South Carolina House of Representatives, Micah has caught the attention of his fellow legislators, journalists and political observers for being independent-minded and for his leadership ability as demonstrated by his selection as leader of the House Freshman Caucus. He was identified by the Free Times as one of four House members in the “Power Issue 2018: Fifty People Who Get Things Done in the Capital City.” He holds a B.A. in Political Science from the University of Florida, an I.M.B.A. from the Moore School of Business at the University of South Carolina, and a J.D. from the University of South Carolina School of Law.
