Ginny
Last Name:
Williams
Title and Organization:
Attorney, Williams & Williams Attorneys at Law
Bio:
Born in Pinopolis and raised in Moncks Corner, South Carolina, Ginny’s family is now in its third generation of employees of Santee Cooper. The youngest of four children, Ginny went to great lengths to avoid going to law school after earning a B.A. in History and Spanish from the University of South Carolina, including attaining a master’s degree in Bilingual Legal Interpreting from the College of Charleston. However, she eventually found herself called to help others through the legal profession earning her Juris Doctor from the University of South Carolina School of Law. Ginny practiced law with a defense-oriented firm in Columbia for four years before realizing her heart was in rural communities and the underserved there. She now practices law with her husband and his family at Williams & Williams Attorneys at Law in Orangeburg, South Carolina. They live on her husband’s family farm in the house his grandparents built where she loves raising animals along with her children. A leader in the Orangeburg community, she serves on the Boards of the Orangeburg County Chamber of Commerce and OCTech Foundation and as a Trustee of First Baptist Church.
