Bio:
A native of New Zion, a rural community in Clarendon County, South Carolina where grandparents on both sides of her family were sharecroppers, Kimberly worked through the challenges of growing up in an under-resourced community by excelling in school and being the first in her family to graduate from college. Since education was her key to success, she understands how education and advocacy can change the trajectory of South Carolina and also the lives of those who have obstacles to success. Kimberly holds a B.A. in History and Political Science, magna cum laude, from Furman University and a Juris Doctor from Georgetown University Law Center. Kimberly is a Shareholder of Haynsworth, Sinkler, Boyd, PA in Greenville. A successful public finance attorney, Kimberly has been named a South Carolina Super Lawyers Rising Star four consecutive years and was named as one of The Bond Buyer's 2021 Rising Stars, . A collaborator and change agent in Greenville, Kimberly was recognized as the Greenville Chamber of Commerce’s Young Professional of the Year and for her work as the first African American President of the Junior League of Greenville and past board member for the United Way of Greenville County. Kimberly is a Fellow of the 15th class of the Liberty Fellowship and a member of the Aspen Global Leadership Network.
