Relevant Experience/Specialization
Monique Mathys-Graaff is a Senior Director and Head of Sustainability Solutions at WTW Investments.
Prior to joining WTW in September of 2021, Monique was Senior Advisor at the Impact Management Project/ Platform, where she worked with a diverse set of institutional investors, impact investors, philanthropy and sustainability focused standard-setting organization to drive systematic transformation across Global Capital Markets. From 2016 to 2020, she lead the implementation of thematic investment strategies and their implementation across multi-asset classes and sectors at the Public Investment Corporation, a large South African state owned asset manager.
As a CFA charter holder, Monique’s investment experience across Emerging Markets compliments her experience with sustainable development practices globally. She brings more than 20 years of experience in a variety of investment strategy, including Impact investing and sustainability focused roles within pension funds, asset managers, foundations, investment banks and corporates.
Education and Credentials
Monique is a CFA charterholder since 2005 (CFA Institute), having achieved Finance Honours, Bachelor of Business Science, from the University of Cape Town, South Africa in 2000. Executive courses include Advanced Corporate Finance from the London School of Economics. A fellow of the African Leadership Institute, South Africa chapter of the Aspen Global Leadership Network.
Board participation for the South African chapters of the following global organisations: Global Steering Group for Impact Investing, Africa Venture Philanthropy Association and Green Outcomes Fund.
Investment Committee and expert sustainability impact advisory roles included: World Benchmarking Alliance Financial Transformation Benchmark, Impact Frontiers, Public Investment Committee IC, Unemployment Insurance Fund IC, AP venture LLP.
