Bio:
Rebecca Oppenheimer is an investor, philanthropist and writer. She is a graduate of Princeton University and has completed a one-year classical acting programme at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art. Having spent a diverse career across performance arts, venture capital and philanthropy, Rebecca brings a unique skillset to African early-stage investing. Rebecca and her two children now live in South Africa. She is the founding donor of the African Leadership Academy, and remains an active angel investor across the African continent. Rebecca is a board member of the Oppenheimer Memorial Trust, where she is able to contribute to her family's philanthropic endeavours in South Africa. She currently co-leads a leading early-stage investment fund strictly focused on African female founded opportunities, named One Day Yes. Rebecca remains focused on finding unique solutions to the diverse challenges of South Africa. She is actively involved in enterprises across sanitation, healthcare, credit access, financial inclusion, and food technology. Rebecca seeks to aid those below the poverty line through sustainable and transformational interventions .
