Carly Zakin is Co-founder of theSkimm, a digital media company acquired by Everyday Health Group, a part of Ziff Davis, in 2025.
theSkimm is dedicated to giving women the information they need to navigate life’s most important decisions. Since hitting send on the first Daily Skimm email over a decade ago, Carly has cultivated a trusted community that reaches more than 16 million women. As their audience has matured, so has theSkimm, evolving beyond a singular newsletter into an award-winning ecosystem that includes dedicated newsletters in health and wellness, finance, sports, shopping, a career podcast, and a commerce arm that performs at 3x the industry standard. Under Carly and her co founder’s leadership, theSkimm has been at the forefront of advocating for and empowering millennial women nationwide by driving over 2 million voting-related actions in the last four election cycles, propelled nearly 700 companies to support parents and caregivers in the workplace through the #ShowUsYourLeave and #ShowUsYourChildCare campaigns, and amplified the issues women face through theSkimm's State of Women Report.
theSkimm’s book, How to Skimm Your Life debuted at #1 on The New York Times Best Seller list.
