Carly Zakin is Cofounder & Co-CEO of theSkimm, a membership company that makes it easier for millennial women to live smarter. Carly and co-founder Danielle Weisberg launched theSkimm from their couch in 2012 and have built a brand that continues to be a trusted source for more than seven million daily subscribers. theSkimm’s first book, How to Skimm Your Life, was released in June 2019 and debuted at #1 on The New York Times Best Seller list. She has been featured on a number of prominent lists including: Forbes 30 Under 30 in Media, Vanity Fair's The Next Establishment, Fortune’s 40 Under 40, Variety’s Power of Women, and Adweek's Young Influentials, and has also been recognized by Goldman Sachs Builders and Innovator Summit as one of the most 100 Intriguing Entrepreneurs. Carly is a member of the New York Historical Society, Time’s Up, Tech NYC, and the Penn Fund at the University of Pennsylvania. She sits on the boards of theSkimm and Tech NYC. Carly attended the University of Pennsylvania, where she earned her BA in political science and cinema studies in 2008 and started her career as a producer at CNBC and NBC News. She is a member of the 2020 Class of Henry Crown Fellows within the Aspen Global Leadership Network at the Aspen Institute.
