Adam Wright is Executive Vice President, Operations & Chief Operating Officer, Utility at PG&E Corp. Prior to this, he was president and CEO of MidAmerican Energy Company, a subsidiary of Berkshire Hathaway Energy. MidAmerican provides electric and natural gas service to nearly 1.6 million customers in Iowa, Illinois, Nebraska, and South Dakota. The company owns and operates a diverse and growing portfolio of power generating assets, as well as an expanding transmission and distribution infrastructure. Prior to being named president and CEO, Adam was vice president of gas delivery from 2015 to 2017 and led expansion and operations of MidAmerican’s wind generation fleet from 2012 to 2015. Adam began his employment with the Berkshire Hathaway Energy family of businesses in 1996 as an intern, and in 2003, he joined Northern Natural Gas where he served in various management roles within the operations group where he was responsible for the development of the company’s integrity management program for high-consequence areas and the completion of major pipeline expansion projects. From 2010 to 2011, Adam served as vice president of marketing, managing negotiation and execution of long-term service agreements and general customer satisfaction initiatives. He also briefly played professional football with the New York Giants. Adam is committed to serving his community and is a current board member of the Iowa Business Council and the Iowa Utility Association and is an advisory director for the American Gas Association. He is the former president of the board of The Hope Center for Kids, and a former member of the boards of the Iowa Chapter of Tom Osborne’s TeamMates, the Science Center of Iowa and the John R Grubb YMCA. Adam earned a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the University of Nebraska at Omaha in 2002. Adam is a member of the 2021 Class of Henry Crown Fellows within the Aspen Global Leadership Network at the Aspen Institute.
