Bio:
Angela Keys brings more than twelve years of administrative and operations management, event planning, and student/client relations experience to her new role with the Civil Society Fellowship. In prior roles with Northwestern University’s Office of Fellowships and Office of Campus Activities, she managed programs and planned successful events for students, faculty, and community partners. During nearly five years with Georgia Tech, Angela served in a management role with the Institute’s career education center, helping to design and implement student- and employer-focused events, including career fairs that drew ±8,000 students, 400 companies, and 1,500+ recruiters.
At Georgia Tech, Angela was selected as an Inclusive Leader, a Diversity and Inclusion Fellow, and received the Faces of Inclusive Excellence award. She was also the recipient of the Northwestern University Service Excellence Award. Dedicated to her community, Angela has been a volunteer reader and tutor to students in second to fourth grade at an Atlanta public school and served her professional community in leadership roles with the International Association of Administrative Professionals and formerly with the Georgia Tech Event Coordinators’ Network.
Angela graduated magna cum laude from DePaul University with a BA in Radio/TV/Film and earned her MFA in fiction writing from Columbia College, Chicago. When not writing young adult fiction, she races in 5/10Ks and battles her husband for the affections of their adorable dog, Mia.
