Bio:
Brittany Hughes is an attorney, policy professional, and content creator. In her current role, she serves as Legislative Director in the office of Congresswoman Lauren Underwood (D-IL). Ms. Hughes previously worked as a U.S. Legislative and Regulatory Supervising Associate at Ernst & Young LLP. Brittany previously served as Deputy Legislative Director and Counsel in the Office of Congressman John Lewis. Throughout her career, Ms. Hughes has worked on policy issues that include environmental sustainability, criminal justice, tax, financial services, women's health, defense and nuclear proliferation, small business issues, and more. From 2018-2020, Ms. Hughes wrote and co-hosted the “Blher” (pronounced blur) Podcast, a show highlighting the perspectives of Black women on a variety of social issues. Ms. Hughes is admitted to the Alabama State Bar and the U.S. Supreme Court Bar. Brittany is a Fellow of the Civil Society Fellowship and a member of the Aspen Global Leadership Network.
