Bio:
Dan is deputy chief investment officer of Hirtle, Callaghan & Co., a leading U.S. outsourced chief investment officer that manages capital on behalf of endowments, foundations and families on a global basis. He leads the firm’s active manager selection, including public equity, private equity, hedge funds, credit and special opportunities. Dan serves on Team 1 and is a leader of the Investment Committee, which is directly responsible for the firm’s asset allocation strategies and the approval of investment managers for client portfolios. He has also been instrumental in spearheading the launch of new solutions for the firm's clients. Prior to joining Hirtle Callaghan, Dan was one of two managing directors in Brown University’s Investment Office, where he co-managed Brown’s endowment, investing across all asset classes. He was also the portfolio manager for Brown’s direct investing program and co-investments. While at Brown, he helped restructure and lead the program which generated the leading endowment returns in the U.S. Prior to joining Brown’s endowment, Dan was portfolio manager of a family office, investing in equities and credit globally. He started his career as an investment banker in the United States and Europe. Dan holds a B.A. in Economics from UC Berkeley and an M.B.A. from Columbia Business School. Dan is a Fellow of the 2021 class of the Aspen Finance Leaders Fellowship and a member of the Aspen Global Leadership Network.
