Kathryn Finney is the founder and CEO of Genius Guild, a platform that builds and invests in market-based innovations that end racism. As a seasoned investor, she is the general partner of the Greenhouse Fund, a groundbreaking $20 million venture capital fund investing in Black founders. Kathryn is a visionary and inclusive champion having founded the Doonie Fund, which provides micro investments to over 1,500 Black-women owned businesses; digitalundivided, a social enterprise that invests in Black and LatinX communities and businesses; and The Budget Fashionista, which she sold in 2013. As the first Black woman business author at Portfolio/Penguin Books, Kathryn has received numerous accolades, including Entrepreneur Magazine’s Woman to Watch, Ebony Power 100, Black Enterprise 40 under 40, and others. Kathryn received her bachelor’s degree in women’s studies and politics from Rutgers University and her master’s degree in public health from Yale University. Kathryn is a Fellow of the 2021 class of the Finance Leaders Fellows Program and a member of the Aspen Global Leadership Network.
