Kathryn Finney is a seasoned founder, investor, and board director who fuses two decades of building, scaling, and exiting companies with an unparalleled venture record and Fortune 500 fundraising acumen. As Managing General Partner of Chicago-based Genius Guild, she guides strategy, governance, and P&L for a venture firm while serving on the boards of Health in Her HUE and Backpack Healthcare.
Previously, she launched and grew digital undivided, creator of the landmark #ProjectDiane study, to a 40-person, seven-figure enterprise, and built The Budget Fashionista from concept to a profitable exit. Kathryn has raised nearly $100 million, authored the Wall Street Journal bestseller Build the Damn Thing, and earned honors from Inc., Entrepreneur, Business Insider, the Heinz Awards, Deloitte, and the Aspen Institute.
A Yale-trained epidemiologist, she was appointed to the Obama Administration’s NACIE, holds an honorary doctorate from Mount Holyoke College, and has taught at Yale, MIT, Spelman College, and abroad.
