Title and Organization:
Stacie Olivares is a trustee of CalPERS, the largest public pension in the United States with $470 billion and 2 million members. At the nexus of capital markets, technology, and policy, Stacie works to democratize capital and improve environmental, social, and governance (ESG) and diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) outcomes in our global economy. She was the chief investment officer of Lendistry, a fintech small business lender, from 2019 through 2020, and senior advisor on blockchain and impact investment to the world’s 4th largest insurance market from 2018 to 2019. Prior to that, Stacie led ESG investments as the chief investment officer of COIN, a $29 billion ESG investment fund of the insurance industry, from 2011 through 2018, and as an ESG-focused portfolio manager at Morgan Stanley from 2008 through 2011. She entered capital markets with a global lens after leading the State of California’s economic advisory board from 2002 to 2007 and global licensing and business development for Palm, Inc., from 2000 to 2002. Stacie currently advises several early-stage companies and serves on the board of directors of the Kroll Bond Rating Agency, Mission Advancement Corporation, and the Hispanic Heritage Foundation. She earned her bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of California at Berkeley and a master’s degree in business and government from Harvard University. Stacie is a Fellow of the 2021 Class of the Finance Leaders Fellowship and a member of the Aspen Global Leadership Network.
