Bio:
Stacie Olivares structures and optimizes funds and innovations for scaled impact. She is a board director and chief investment officer for best-in-class funds and innovative companies with oversight of $1.4 trillion in retirement funds, $29 billion of insurance industry sustainable investment, and more than $3 trillion bond issuance. A member of the Federal Retirement Thrift Investment Board, she oversees the Thrift Savings Plan, the largest defined contribution plan globally with best-in-class performance, $900 billion AUM and 6.8 million participants. She joined from CalPERS, where she served on the Board of Directors for the largest U.S. pension from 2019 to 2022.
Stacie is on the board of credit rating agency KBRA and previously served as audit committee chair for Core Scientific and Mission Advancement Corp. She serves on the nonprofit boards of the California Endowment, Latino Community Foundation, and Hispanic Heritage Foundation, and the UC Berkeley College of Letters & Science.
Stacie was the chief investment officer of Lendistry from 2019 to 2020, chief investment officer of COIN, the ESG investment fund of the insurance industry, from 2011 to 2019, and at Morgan Stanley from 2008 through 2011. She entered capital markets after leading California’s economic advisory board from 2002 to 2007 and global smartphone licensing and business development for Palm from 2000 to 2002.
She is an alumna of UC Berkeley and Harvard University and a Fellow of the 2021 Class of the Finance Leaders Fellowship and a member of the Aspen Global Leadership Network.
