Bio:
Shilla is CEO and Cofounder of Thrilling, an online marketplace of curated second-hand items from the best small, independent shops across the country. Shilla’s mission is driven by concerns for our environment: new apparel production consumes enormous levels of natural resources and is a leading contributor to pollution around the world. She is also passionate about supporting the viability of local, small businesses – her grandparents owned and operated a dry cleaner for 50 years in North Carolina, the first Black-owned business in their town. Thrilling's platform now serves over 1,400 stores across 300 cities. Most recently, Shilla served as Chief of Staff for Disney’s Television Group, a $13 billion media division that reaches 500 million households around the world in 35 languages. She previously led the Strategy and Business Development group at Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts, where she helped launch new business verticals including fashion, restaurants, publishing, visual arts, and consulting. Shilla started her career as an investment banking analyst at JPMorgan. She currently serves on the board of First Republic Bank (NYSE: FRC). She graduated from Harvard College with her BA in economics in 2004 and from Harvard Business School with her MBA in 2009. Shilla is a member of the 2022 Class of Henry Crown Fellows within the Aspen Global Leadership Network at the Aspen Institute. Shilla lives in New York with her husband and two young sons.
