Bio:
Yogavelli Nambiar is the CEO of the Allan Gray Orbis Foundation which identifies and nurtures entrepreneurial potential in young people; and serves on the boards of E-squared Investments; the Aspen Institute Global South Africa; and the Global Advisory Board of the Aspen Network for Development Entrepreneurs, all of which support impact-driven entrepreneurs. Yogi is also an active member of the Young Presidents’ Organisation (YPO) Africa Regional Board where she drives the Diversity & Inclusion portfolio; and of the Womanomics Africa™ Advisory Council, a pan-African entity seeking to accelerate women entrepreneurship. In 2020, she delivered a Tedx talk titled “Entrepreneurship Education is a human right” and continues to speak and teach on entrepreneurial thinking and social entrepreneurship. Previously, Yogi was Country Director of the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Women Initiative, and Founding Director of the Entrepreneurship Development Academy at the Gordon Institute of Business Science (GIBS) which she created in 2014 to break down the barriers to business school education for previously marginalised or underserved entrepreneurs. She had also founded two businesses and worked in the women’s human rights and disabilities sectors in India for seven years. She is a Fellow in Cohort XIII of the African Leadership Initiative.
