Bio:
Adriaan Basson is editor-in-chief of News24, South Africa's largest digital news publisher. Adriaan started his career as a journalist in 2003 and worked as an investigative journalist on Mail & Guardian and City Press. In 2013 he became editor of Beeld in Johannesburg, and was appointed editor-in-chief of News24 in April 2016. He is the recipient of multiple journalism awards, including the CNN Africa Journalist of the Year and the Taco Kuiper award for investigative journalism. Adriaan is the author of four books on current affairs and corruption in South Africa. He graduated from Stellenbosch University with a bachelor's degree in Politics, and earned an Honnours degree in African Politics from the University of South Africa. Adriaan is a fellow for the Africa Leadership Initiative.
