Bio:
Brenda Kubheka is a medical doctor, researcher, and an entrepreneur. She is a founder and Managing Director of Health IQ Consulting. She is a founder of the Woman in Healthcare Summit launched in 2022. She has more than 20 years of experience in the private and public sectors in South Africa. Brenda serves as board member of Leratong Hospital, Cancer Association of South Africa and a member of Council of the University of Limpopo. She is passionate about the intersection between society, technology and health. Brenda played a vital role in the disaster management and preparation for the 2010 World Cup in her role as a Chief Director for Hospital Services in Mpumalanga Province. Prior to this role, she worked for a managed care organisation as a medical advisor and later responsible for the operations within the hospital utilisation devision. Brenda is fellow of the thirteenth class of the African Leadership Initiative. Her bioethical areas of interest include digital ethics, patient safety, storytelling, and social justice. Besides her academic publications, Brenda's opinion pieces are published locally and the US.
Her current work focuses on strategic clinical risk management and health ethics advisory. She has a medical degree from MEDUNSA, MBA from the Gordon Institute of Business Science, various diplomas and certificates including Media and Medicine from Harvard University..
