Bio:
Rocío Pinto is co-founder and CEO of Multiverse, a multi-faceted platform that connects entrepreneurs with potential investors. Multiverse includes programs such as Open Innovation, Guatemala’s premier startup accelerator, it also works with angel investors, curating early-stage investment opportunities and various programs that helps entrepreneurs develop new products and services. Rocio has more than 15 years of experience as an entrepreneur, corporate strategy consultant, business modeling expert and mentor to entrepreneurs. Previously, Rocío was co-creator and director of Heurística, a program of the Business School of Universidad Francisco Marroquin (UFM), one of Guatemala’s leading universities, that helps entrepreneurs hone and test their business models through trial-and-error iteration in a bootcamp setting. Previously, she was a fuel contract negotiator for TECO Energy, a US energy company with operations in Guatemala. She, also worked in the advisory group at KPMG, a leading international consulting firm. Rocio is passionate about fostering entrepreneurial ecosystems in the region. She was part of the Up Global Community (now part of Techstars), an organization dedicated to fostering entrepreneurial communities, as a local organizer for its well-known Startup Weekend program. She also led the efforts to bring MIT Global Startup Workshop (MIT GSW), an annual conference that brings together entrepreneurs, students, investors, and key stakeholders from across the world to accelerate the entrepreneurial ecosystem of a host region, to Guatemala in 2015. Rocio is a founding member and Vice President of the Guatemalan Venture Capital Association and board member of CAPCA Investment. Rocio holds a Master of Management from Tulane University, an MBA with a minor in Entrepreneurship from UFM and a BA in International Business from Universidad Francisco Marroquin.
