Bio:
Dr. Victor Wu is the Chief Medical Officer for TennCare, Tennessee’s State Medicaid Agency. At TennCare, Victor leads the Medical Office to ensure high-quality and cost-effective delivery of medical, pharmacy, and dental services to its members. Additionally, he supports key strategic health policy reform efforts which have recently included work combatting the opioid epidemic, driving improvements in maternal and child health, addressing the impacts of social risk factors on health, and delivery system and practice transformation initiatives. Prior to joining TennCare, Victor worked at Evolent Health as Vice President for Clinical Transformation where he led provider health systems in their transition to value-based population health care with a special focus on Medicaid and vulnerable populations. In 2013-2014, Victor served as a White House Fellow to the Secretary of Health and Human Services working on ACA implementation, payment reform, and clinical quality initiatives. Clinically, Victor continues to practice as an Internist in the Veteran’s Affairs Health System. Victor is a native Tennessean. He earned his undergraduate degree in Biomedical Engineering at Vanderbilt University and a joint MD/MPH at Emory University School of Medicine. He completed his Internal Medicine Primary Care Residency and Chief Medical Residency at Emory University and Grady Memorial Hospital.
